Awesome Day
I had an awesome day today! But I have no one to talk to about it right now, so I'm writing a journal entry.
First off, the rent inspection? Absolutely smashed it. Woke up at 7, vacuumed the house, and due to all our hard work the previous few days we were all ready by 8 (the inspection was at 9). For some reason we needed to be out of the apartment whilst the inspection was taking place, so all of us went out for the day. My partner and I had a lovely breakfast at Dôme, then we both went to the Subiaco Arts Centre for an audition!! We were auditioning to be actors for a company that entertains sick children in hospitals around Perth. My partner went first, then I went in the slot after her. She didn't like it so much because it was essentially two hours of improv and clowning (which involved a VERY confronting exercise where you tried to cross the stage and be funny: if you were funny you could move forward, but if you WEREN'T funny, you had to take a step BACK. It was HORRID. Actually it wasn't that bad, but oh my god I don't know how I managed that. It was fine at the time but I'd die if I tried it right now). But me? I LOVED the audition! Even if I don't get the job, it was SUCH a fun time!!
I also knew two people there...I did high school drama with one of them, and I met the other at an LGBTQ+ badminton event. Anywhom.
You know what the best part is? I made friends! Five of us were catching the train home, so we all walked to the train station together. By the time we got to the city (where all of Perth's train transfers take place), we'd all decided that there was no big rush to go home, and had a nice hang out in Perth's bustling and dodgy Central Business District, and the adjecent restaurant/club suburb Northbridge. We got burgers, then ice cream, then went to a flower shop with records and a cute dog???? It was so cool there. Then we went to an op-shop for a bit, and we went back to the train station and parted ways.
My new friends are Kaz (she/they), Adah (she/they), and Nat (she/her). They're all awesome. We're gonna have movie nights together.
I really struggle to make new friends, and on top of that I struggle to keep in contact with the friends I do make. So I'm really glad I've got this group now. They're really cool.
I hope you have a nice day!
