Biography

I grew up on my family's remote sheep/cattle station in Western Austraia, with my parents, my three older sisters, and various animals. The nearest town was Jafton, about 60km away. Growing up, I was surrounded by the Badimaya language, as well as a lot of dirt. It was very boring, so I learnt how to make animations and short films.
When I was 12, I left my family and moved into Perth for boarding school. There, I faced a lot of queerphobic abuse at the hands of students and staff, and got extremely depressed. I also got interested in learning languages, and an attempt to learn Badimaya gave me an accidental interest in linguistics. I also started making YouTube videos. I also got into music! I was forced to play euphonium in Year 7, but accidentally ended up enjoying it. I joined a few choirs, started taking composition lessons, and learnt how to play a heap of instruments.
Eventually, I got kicked out of the boarding house because I self-harmed, and I moved in with my auntie and uncle in the hills of Perth. Finally, I graduated in 2023 with not nearly enough accolades to make up for how much trauma high school left me with. But I did get a silly little hat. I moved into a little apartment in the city, and that's where I am today.
I study linguistics at the University of Western Australia, along with archaeology, Spanish, and Indigenous studies. I'm hoping to get my master's degree and PhD in linguistics. One day, I want to go to university for voice, and I also want to go to university for film. I'm gonna have one hell of a fuckin HECS debt.
